Shop Safety Rules
Safety is our top priority in the tech shop. Please adhere to these important rules:
- Wear Eye Protection: Ensure you wear safety glasses when using any tools.
- Ask for Permission: Always ask the teacher for permission before using any tools, regardless of the situation.
- Avoid Loose Hair and Clothing: Keep hair tied back and avoid loose clothing when using tools.
- Maintain Safe Distance: Stay at a safe distance from cutting blades or drill bits to prevent accidents.
- No Horseplay: Avoid engaging in horseplay in the shop. Do not touch peers, run, or create distractions while waiting to use tools.
- Clean Up: Put all tools away after use without exceptions to maintain a tidy and safe workspace.
Parent Guide: Accessing Student Work
Dear Parents and Guardians,
To help you stay informed about your child's progress in our 7th Grade Tech class, please follow these guidelines when looking for assignments and grades:
1. Microsoft TEAMS: Your First Stop
- All student work, assignments, and project details are primarily posted on Microsoft TEAMS.
- TEAMS is our main platform for class communication, collaboration, and submission of work.
- Check TEAMS first for:
- Daily assignments
- Long-term projects
- Class resources and materials
- Discussion boards and class announcements
Why TEAMS?
Some of our tech projects and assignments are complex and may span several weeks. TEAMS allows us to break these longer assignments into manageable steps and provide ongoing feedback.
2. eSchool: For Final Grades
- While TEAMS is where the work happens, eSchool is where you'll find final grades.
- Check eSchool for:
- Overall course grades
- Final grades for major assignments and projects
- Attendance records
Important Notes:
- Not all assignments on TEAMS will immediately appear in eSchool.
- Longer projects may have multiple components in TEAMS but appear as a single grade in eSchool upon completion.
- If you don't see a grade in eSchool, it doesn't necessarily mean the work is missing. Check TEAMS first to see the assignment status.
3. Communication Process
If you have questions about your child's progress:
- Ask your child to show you their work on TEAMS.
- Check eSchool for posted grades.
- If you still have concerns, please email me at cpignatora@iroquoiscsd.org or call my extension: 6312.
